The Soldiers Memorial Military Museum, located in beautiful downtown St. Louis, MO, was first planned in 1925 to honor the 1,075 St. Louisans who died in the Great War. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt dedicated the building in 1936 and it officially opened to the public on the 20th anniversary of the end of WWI in 1938. After WWII the museum was expanded to honor all Missourians who have served in every conflict. It is currently undergoing major renovations which will include state-of-the-art, interactive displays.
